Description
THE STORY
Vallay is a beautiful tidal island located in the Outer Hebrides. Although small in size, Vallay contains over 600 acres of fertile ‘machair’, the pure and unspoiled seashore soil unique to Scottish islands that nurtures rare flora and fauna. During low tide, Vallay is linked to North Uist by a long sandbar. Although now uninhabited, Vallay is the perfect setting for many types of birds, including greylag geese, snipe, mallard and other waders.
